5 and 35

We've been doing a lot of celebrating and remembering lately...Todd and I celebrated our five year wedding anniversary last week! We were in Florida, so Todd brought me out on a dinner sunset cruise while grandma and grandpa watched Uriah!!! It was soooo nice and dinner was yummy :) The water, sky, scenery were all so beautiful too! It was fun remembering our wedding day and honeymoon!! I look forward to many years ahead! (I'll post some pics soon)
And today is Todd's birthday, YEA!! We are recovering from a storm that just hit us, but we are okay. We actually had a few days off work together this past week, so that was nice :) The ocean is starting to calm down now. I am going to fix steaks for dinner tonight and try my luck with a key lime pie for a get together tomorrow after church. Hope it turns out good! We are going to get a couple's massage next weekend too :) Should be fun!! And with the holidays quickly approaching, we are making more plans and getting things together for family to come visit! Looking forward to it; the holidays should be lots of fun this year!

Zoo trip

We visited Jungle Larry's/Naples Zoo for the second year in a row, and Uriah really enjoyed going this year. Last year, he was just too young to really enjoy the adventure. I found a picture from last year's visit. Uriah was about 8 months old.


This year he had a blast seeing all the birds, fish, lion, bears, and monkeys!


We went on a boat ride through 'monkey island' and we saw all kinds of monkeys; I think it was Uriah's favorite! He would point at them and go "WHOA!"

Happy Fall!

We are enjoying our time in Florida visiting Todd's parents! We went to a pumpkin patch on Saturday and Uriah picked out some pumpkins just his size :)

september

time is flying by! we are having some nice cooler weather this past week; we are really enjoying it! starting to feel like fall is right around the corner. i am always sad to see summer go, but my favorite season of the year is fall, by far!

we have been celebrating a lot of semptember birthdays around here, more celebrations to come! today is my dad's bday...Happy Birthday Dad, wish we were there in Texas to celebrate with you. for all you september babies, happy birthday to you too! enjoy!

uriah is getting so big. once any little one starts walking, they just grow up. wow...too fast! he is walking so great! he started trying to jump yesterday too :) too cute! he is getting lots of teeth and will eat anything, yea! tonight at dinner he ate a lot of asparagus!! he does a lot of signing to let me know what he wants, but this week he started talking a lot more, trying to repeat what i say. we are so proud of him!

big news!

Uriah is walking!!! YEA! He thinks he is big stuff and is loving this new way to get from here to there. I picked him up from the babysitters Tues night after work and we were playing on the floor and he just decided to take some steps! And of course, we make such a big deal about it that he wants to keep walking. He is really well balanced and doesn't fall too much because, I think, he is a little older. He is 16 months tomorrow! We just love him soooooo much! I'll post some pics later, just wanted to tell everyone, yea!

Fun day of firsts

Today was a good day! Uriah and I had fun hanging out and running errands this morning. After his nap, we packed up and went of hang out with our friend, Michelle who is dog sitting at a home in Grandy. They have 2 beautiful golden retrievers, a trampoline, and a salt water pool! Oh, it was so much fun; we had a blast!! And daddy came over on his way home from work to hang out too! Uriah had a good time swimming; it was my first time swimming in a pool with him. I dunked him a few times, but he didn't really enjoy that. He liked laying on the body-sized floatie and kicking his legs. After a really yummy dinner, Uriah learned what a trampoline is and how fun they are!! Came home just in time for bed....zzzzzz. Good night.

When we got home from Tennessee, Todd's family from Florida and Connecticut were at our house for a beach vacation! We had a great time and enjoyed their company for 2 weeks!

Cruisin'

On the Nolichucky River

A few weeks ago, we loaded up and drove to Erwin, TN, with 23 youth group kids, 7 adults, and 4 other young kiddos for a fun time on the river and an awesome time with the Lord! We all stayed in the same cabin right on the Nolichucky, and Uriah did very well staying in the same room with 2 other toddlers. It was interesting; I wasn't too sure what I had gotten myself into when we first got there, but after one night around the campfire with the kids, I was super excited to be there, and I am so glad we went! We cooked all our food over the fire, no frig, no microwave, no stove. We did have toilets and showers (with hot water) though, thankfully! We had 3 days of white water rafting, and Todd stayed back with Uriah on the second day so I could go. It was so much fun! And I went caveing too, all I have to say about that is...extreme and FUN!

summer visitors

Summertime brings lots of visitors our way to the beach! So far this summer we have enjoyed the company of Lance and Todd's parents and uncle. We are looking forward to more visitors soon!

Uncle Lance flew up and stayed with us for 2 weeks! We all had such a great time!! The time just went by way too fast!!


We went surfing together! He got the hang of it really quickly and caught a lot of waves :)

Todd's Uncle Chuck, mom and dad, and Breezy (the white fluff at the bottom of the pic) stopped by for a few days to say hi and see how big Uriah is getting. We were so happy to see them!

Uriah and I had dinner at our friends home a few weeks ago while Todd was out of town for work, and it was getting to be time for bath and bed when Uriah got invited to stay a little longer and have a bath with Silas! Oh what fun they had! Check out the water babies!

Oh, and summertime is here! It's getting hot outside and the water is getting warm, yeah!!!! Uriah loves to play in the sand, and he let auntie Jodi bury him!! Can't wait to get him in the water; it's still a little chilly for him, but he enjoys watching River swim.

I had a great mother's day weekend! Uriah and I went strawberry picking with Michelle on Saturday, and then we went surfing!!! I am hooked again... all Sunday afternoon we were back out in the water and Jodi joined us (even got a few action shots)! I am so excited to get back in the water after not getting in last summer at all. Oh I've got a way to go to get back in shape, but I'm working on it!! What fun!!!
